Update
****Race Cancelled****
Regrettably we have had to abandon our race that was proposed for the 9th of May 2021.
.
We have been contacted by Elvaston Castle and they have advised that they are unable to confirm our race date booking due to Covid-19. This means that we are therefore unable to advertise or publicise our event as this would break their terms and conditions. Without a guaranteed race location, we are unable to put our event on and we feel that with the current pandemic situation it is unlikely that this will be resolved by May 2021.
.
Our original decision to put on the 2021 race, and start advertising last year, was taken as there were signs that the pandemic situation did seem to be improving and it was assumed that by May everything would be back to normality. We were still cautiously optimistic until last week that there was the possibility of our race going ahead.
.
I appreciate that this is very frustrating and I will be contacting all that have entered our race directly by email over the next couple of days (including those that carried over their entries from 2020).
.
Entrants will have a couple of options available to them
- Transferring your entry into our 2022 race (which should be 08/05/22* date to be confirmed)
- A refund
.
Please note – we are refraining from changing to a different race date as, even if things improve, we will not want to clash with any other races that are normally planned for different dates.
.
Our preferred option is that those entered will be prepared to transfer their entry to 2022. As you can understand, refunding entries does cause extra work but that decision is yours and we will process whatever is best for the individual involved.
.
I will also confirm that a decision for a refund can be made at a later date, people might not know what they are doing in 2022 and then might book other things that clash. Of course there is always the option of transferring your entry to another runner nearer to the time as well.
.
Could I ask that anyone that wishes to receive a refund, rather than have their entry carried forward, confirms by reply to the email that they receive please.
.
If you should have any other queries or want to contact me directly please feel free to do so….
brianwarner36@hotmail.com
.
Finally – keep that running going, keep fit and keep motivated. Running is good for your mental health especially good in the present situation. 🙂
.
Kind Regards
.
Brian Warner

UPDATE 20 03 2020
It is with regret that we must advise that our race planned for the 10th of May 2020 has been cancelled.
We understand that this will be disappointing to all but due to the current situation with the Coronavirus pandemic we feel that this is the only course of action that we can take especially with the date only being just over 7 weeks away. We have looked at the option of rearranging our race but we would not want to clash with other races that are already planned or other races that might be re arranged for later dates in the year.
Our race will return in May 2021 and we will confirm the exact date a little nearer the time.
All entries that have been made are guaranteed a place in our race next year. Any requests received for refunds are being arranged.

The 2014 race was held on Sunday the 1st of June.
We managed to fill our allocation of runners prior to the day of the race so there were no entries on the day. It was another glorious day, perhaps too hot?. We have learnt a lot from the race and, following feedback, will be making some amendments to next years race so that the race runs even smoother. We all hope you had a great time and look forward to seeing you all next year.
