We are a friendly local running club based at the Rolls-Royce Sports and Welfare Club, situated opposite Moorways Swimming Pool on Moor Lane, Derby.
We meet every Wednesday at 6:20pm and aim to start running at 6:30pm. We cater for all different kinds of runners: from novice runners to seasoned club runners. New starters should meet at the same time and an assigned club Volunteer will accompany you on your initial runs.
We pride ourselves on our friendly, social approach to running. After our run we meet in the bar for a pint (of whatever you want) and a chip butty. We have many experienced runners who are willing to provide support and advice, whether your goal is just to get fitter or if you have your sights on completing a sub – 3 hour marathon.
To find out some more about us have a look around our site or simply come to the Rolls-Royce Sports and Welfare Club on a Wednesday evening.
Please feel free to visit our Facebook page.
Currently membership to our club will cost you £27 for an individual or £39 for a family membership or £12 for a second claim or social membership.
There are no extra fees to pay on our Wednesday meeting nights.
Part of this payment includes your membership to UK Athletics (obviously not paid for second claim or social membership) – Most races that you enter you will give you a reduced entry fee for being a UK Athletics member so the more races you run the more money you save so :).
There are showering facilities available after the Wednesday run.
You also still get the chip-cobs on a Wednesday night – HOLD ON – yes you have read that right – join us and you’ll also get FREE chip-cobs (don’t think any other running club offers you that!).
Of course if you want to buy kit (Running vests/hoodies or Training t-shirts) they are also available. Currently Vests are £13.50, Hoodies are £13.50 and Training T-shirts are £5.
To recap – £27 a year gets you, reduced entry costs to races, showers and chip-cobs – it’s a bargain – why have you not signed up already :). Even if you had just the chip cobs it would cost you only 50p a week!!!!!!!!
